# NativeCAD 0.17.1 "Bátiz" — the listing says what NativeCAD does

**166 tools: the same 166 as 0.17.0. Only the listing copy changes.**

The Claude Desktop extension page, the Cowork plugin and the npm package now describe the product:

* modelling;
* the formats it reads: STEP / AP242, Parasolid and SolidWorks parts, IGES, ACIS, STL and OBJ, DXF, and PDF drawings;
* DFM for CNC, sheet metal, moulding and 3D printing;
* FEA, modal analysis and topology optimisation;
* PCB analysis;
* shop drawings with GD&T;
* exports, Bambu printing and manufacturing quotes;
* the self-update.

**The first release that reaches you by itself.** An install on 0.17.0 names 0.17.1 on every response. `cad_configure {update:"now"}` installs it, and `{autoUpdate:"auto"}` keeps NativeCAD current from now on. Restart Claude to finish. 0.16.0 and older still need one manual install.

See `packages/mcp/CHANGELOG.md`.

## Gates

* **bundle-smoke over stdio, on the shipped `.mcpb` and `.plugin`:** initialize 0.17.1, tools/list 166, staged git `6f4d5cb2` with tree `f8b0b11f6530` (596 files, the same kernel as 0.17.0), kernel chain unlicensed, `cad_export_body` refused by name.
* **Self-update, from the real 0.17.0 `.mcpb` to the real 0.17.1 `.mcpb`, signed with the release key.**
  * The 0.17.0 server named 0.17.1 on `_meta.update`.
  * `update:"now"` verified and installed it.
  * A modelling call still ran afterwards on the pinned worker.
  * After a reload, the server booted as 0.17.1 and reported itself current, and the extension's `manifest.json` carried the new description.

**Downloads:** https://featureboard.ai/nativecad/releases/nativecad-mcp-0.17.1.mcpb (`latest.json` lists bytes, sha256 and the ed25519 signature, key `d2791510af4077e7`).

**Build.** Built from `ticket/CADSF-100062` `6f4d5cb2` (parent: master `191368f0`), with `SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH` set to 1790902365 and esbuild 0.28.1. `dist/server.min.js` (sha256 `526babab…`) is identical in the `.tgz`, the `.mcpb` and the `.plugin`.
