Edge of the World
The ground is Gleason’s New Standard Map of the World, the 1892 sheet with the North Pole at the centre and the whole known world drawn out to the ice. A giant ice wall rings the disc. Two teams of six strap on jetpacks, fly at hundreds of metres a second across the map and fight to hold seven points on real landmarks, from the brass pivot at the pole to Sydney out by the rim. Domination: hold points, score ticks, first to the target wins.
- Online multiplayer — Twelve real players: one authority owns capture, score and respawns, clients predict flight. The bots step aside.
- Loadouts — A marksman rifle for the long sightlines across the disc, a burst weapon for point fights, and jetpack kits that trade top speed against heat.
- Day and night — The sun’s lap around the pole becomes the match clock: dusk on the far side of the disc, lit beacons and gates at night.
- Conquest and push modes — Conquest bleeds the other team’s respawns while you hold the majority; push captures points in order from your gate to the pole.
- Gamepad and touch flight — Stick flight with the same heat and ceiling rules, and touch controls tuned for a tablet.
- A sharper sheet — An 8k cut of the scan, or vectorised coastlines and graticule over it, plus paper-grain detail for the last 200 m of a descent.
